Reflexology

My reflexology treatments are just as much about treating the emotional body as they are the physical body.  The two cannot be separated and everything that shows up in the body is related.

I believe that nothing is random or coincidental.  Even accidents/injuries tell us about an imbalance or conflict, or occur at particular times in our life to guide us on a different path.  The more we listen to our bodies and give ourselves the space, peace and time to feel, the more we can connect with our inner wisdom and intuition.

I provide a safe, calm and relaxing space for you to feel heard, supported and nurtured.  A full health consultation allows you to detail your symptoms, your feelings, and your desires and goals for treatment. I will listen to the way you describe your symptoms which are unique to you and through reading the feet visually and through therapeutic touch I can gain a better understanding as to where imbalances exist and help you to heal your emotional, physical and spiritual body.

Depending on the nature of the condition a course of at least 6 treatments is often recommended to enable the cumulative, beneficial effects of reflexology. Some people have reflexology as a preventative treatment to maintain good health, the frequency of treatments can vary depending on their stress levels and ability to manage it.

Individual treatments and treatment courses can be comprised of a combination of either feet reflexology, and/or facial reflexology and/or the Root Cause therapy sessions.

Reflexology does not claim to cure but it has been shown to help people manage many acute and chronic illnesses. Everyone responds differently to treatments, so the only way to find out is to try it for yourself.

BALANCE & CALM

Reflexology alleviates stress and anxiety, helping you to relax and sleep better. It may help enhance nerve function and balance hormones, resulting in an enhanced feeling of wellbeing. Treatments may help manage illnesses such as depression, panic attacks, headaches, migraines, and insomnia.

FERTILITY & MATERNITY

Specialised maternity reflexology training enables me to offer couples treatments, providing a natural way to help prepare the body for conception and fertility. I offer treatments through all stages of pregnancy, labour and postnatal (including baby reflexology). DIGESTION

Treatments may help relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux or other digestion issues. Reflexology stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system helping to calm the fight or flight response, helping to enhance digestion.

MOVEMENT

Treatments can help stimulate nerve and blood flow and relieve tension in the muscles and joints. This may help to reduce aches and pains, whether it be from physical activities or sport or from long-standing illnesses such as arthritis.

SKIN

Treatments may help alleviate symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, acne and other skin conditions by increasing blood flow, lymph and the circulation of oxygen, helping the body to eliminate toxins.

BREATHE

Reflexology may help in the management of sinusitis, asthma and other respiratory problems. It may help you to breathe more easily and freely, by easing tension in the diaphragm and chest muscles, enhancing lung function, and reducing inflammation and congestion of airway passages.

TREATMENT AFTERCARE

Most people will feel an improved sense of wellbeing and deep relaxation after the first couple of treatments. It is also common to experience a healing response usually after the first treatment, where symptoms may get worse before they get better, although this should pass within 24-48 hours. This is part of the natural healing process and is a positive sign that the body has responded well to the treatment as it actively focuses on healing and flushing away toxins.

Signs of a healing response may include increased tiredness, feeling more emotional, aches and pains and more frequent use of the toilet.

After each treatment

  • Drink plenty of water to aid your body in flushing out any toxins.
  • Rest and avoid strenuous exercise.
  • Avoid stimulants such as tea, coffee and alcohol as they can interfere with the detoxification.

Please note: Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice. Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or cure. Reflexology is a holistic, complementary therapy, which works alongside conventional western medicine and lifestyle measures to improve health and wellbeing.
